Hey All,

My name is Luke Garside, I live in Plymouth in the the South West. I am 18 and I am just coming to the end of my time in sixth form. I am really looking forward to the summer CHINA ! By the time I finish school I hope to have A Levels in Geography, Design, Photography and ICT. My favorite subject has to be Photography and Geography. I love photography, capture all those great moments in life !

So guys & girls this is my first official blog and I really don't know where I am going from here but lets see. Since the day I found out that I had a place on the PMGF and that I was going to China it has just been excitement, excitement and o yeah excitement. I can't get it out of my mind. You try and focus on something else and well you just can't. I can't wait to me all the fellows either, been chatting to all of them and they all sound great. Sounds like I am going China with some amazing people.

Well started or shall I say attempted to learn some Chinese but it ain't going very well but still got a couple weeks to go yet so I pray I get better! I going to take a GAP year after China and see what happens then will decided about University but I don't know what the fellowship could lead to.

Well this is my first blog. Hope you like it

First post!

Well this is my first post, Im guessing it dosen't have to be to formal so gonna add a few faces now and again :).

Just decided that my first post will be me talking abit about after my mad celebrations, weird dancing and the gerneral shabang that goes with getting a place on the PRIMINSTERS GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP TO BRAZIL.

I have Chinese parents and I don't no about other parents but when I told them about getting a place on the PMGF they weren't the most excited or overjoyed parents you may have seen. My mum was more concerned about me getting killed with her over protective nature and that I should think about ym upcoming exams. While my dad just nodded and did his dad thing of...Oh well done, so does that mean you won't be working at the takeaway this summer? :P

So then the next few days consisted of me telling a people of my sucess, as I didn't want to sound too boastful I only kepted it to telling a a few people every mintue. ;) By the end of it my close friends decided I had celebrated enough after a 2 or 3 weeks, although now I still time to time remind them of how they are missing the fun! (Although festivals do sound good too..but you can't have everything).

Just a few days ago I got an school award for saying how proud the school was that I was the first person to get a place on the scheme, although cash or something like that would have been better, I suppsoe abit of paper is ok too. :)

I really can't wait to the predeparture and meet everyone! This will be 6 weeks I will hopefully never possibly gonna forget! :D

Blog out XD.

First blog of many I'm sure...

Well here it is, my first ever PMGF blog! I've just logged in as an official China 2010 fellow and have had the surge of excitement come over me again. I cannot wait for this summer, it's going to be amazing. My first thoughts for the trip seem to revolve around the world expo. It just so happens that us China Fellows will be in Shanghai when it's on and when the Chinese have spent more money on the opening of it than the opening of the Bejing Olympics I am sure it is on all of our hit list of things to visit! I know I've been compiling my list and forums (including the facebook one) have been buzzing with ideas. Since finding out about my place I have been gifted a travel guide for China, a 'learn to speak mandarin chinese' application for my ipod and several facts from passers by that I am too excited not to tell about my upcoming summer!

"did you know that the rate of building and engineering in Shanghai is so rapid that new mapsof the city have to be printed every 2 weeks?" (I have no idea if these strangers' nuggets of information are true but I like to think they are not part of the 97% of statistics that are made up...)

So thats me from England to you wherever :)

Lilly
